Cold.. hrrr let's get warm by partying

f* sake. houston, we have a problem, we're freezing! seriously the whole january was much more warmer than last week has been, but it's Ireland.. you should be well aware of that everything might be different in here than you assume. but it's not so easy ;) we want summer! do we?

anyway, 2 and a half months behind. time is flying now thanks for the good job i just got a month ago. same house, same floor, just the different company. so now it's like 99% in english, good for me and my bad language skills. I've learnt a lot of new things about IT and everything and everyday is different. it's kinda fascinating and enjoyable as well. you won't get bored so easy.. that's the whole point for any job isn't it..?

we just celebrated st patrick's day last weekend. hundreds of thousands of people around the island came to Dublin to party, sing, dance and just spend a good time with everyone else. and all the streets were so full and off for any motor vehicles at the city centre. people were crazy but in a good way. i would prefer more those kind of parties.

finally i got my N70 back. first photos will be online now, with bad quality of course. it's better than nothing. i'll upload more pics soon from howth, nightlife, pubs and so on...

cheers

Hard work, hard work ;)

yo.

still without a camera! damn.. i'll buy it after the next pay-day. however a month behind. I feel like i'm one of them, not so tourist anymore. adaptation for weekday life has been easier than i could imagine. and it's been easy also because all of my workmates and housemates have been helpful and we have done a lot of arrangements together. and thanks to the employer for making things easier to us.

anyway as easy as it might sound, some problems are still exist. the company we should work for is pushing back from finland and our team will not start training which was supposed to start like two weeks ago. so, now we actually don't have a job by the original employer which means that they're going to offer to us a couple of positions inside the building as long as finnish team is "down". That's sick isn't it! Incomprehensible.. but no can do. on the other hand as long as they pay normally, i don't complain. still wondering how can they hire people before they even know what we supposed to do. weird indeed.

but, despite of everything i enjoy to be here. wouldn't change a day away because i haven't had a bad day tho. great people around and the spirit is touchable. finally i feel some mental freedom...

take care. l8r

First 5 days and hostel life

Hello! 5th day going in dublin. Have been very busy time and tens of things to do, but nothing done eh.. somehow i haven't felt any "culture shock" for the present maybe because i mentally prepared to affect anything between land and sky.. generally the everyday living is pretty similar than in finland. the biggest differences are i guess, the public services, terrible traffic and pub culture. last mentioned is that finnish people should learn about.

at the moment i'm seeking for accommodation and been in a hostel since sunday. i must say that 10e per night is a good choice in the beginning. frames are not very luxury but worth to stay if budget is low. on the other hand there might be some negative things too. the worst thing happened on tuesday night when 3 young british guys came from the bar somewhere 3 am and one of them snored so loud noone couldn't sleep well (it was 10 bed mixed room for both males and females). now i booked another hostel for 1 night and going to see some apartment and one georgian house nearby my working place. let's see if im lucky and get a room.

what else. traffic is horrible, pedestrians (including myself of course:) are unconcerned of their own safety. no one knows what's the difference between a red and a green light. beer is good (surprise) and restaurants as well. in job we've just hanging around so far but also got some training lessons. next monday will start a new practical training on the desk. they gave us a couple of days time to arrange some things such as pps number, bank account, accommodation and so on.. so life is getting to start normalize soon, hopefully.

Dublin here i come!

Hi guys!

new year new pranks. kinda new life to me. finally i got a permanent job from dublin as an technical support analyst after missed it twice for particular reasons. the next few weeks will be very fleshly and busy time because there are like 100 practical things to take care of. but no panic at all, couple of friends and my contact person will help me a lot, although i have to arrange i.e. all accommodation by myself. that's gonna be interesting coz it's so so expensive if you want to let a single room, no chances to find it without paying like 1000e/m, at least on city centre. no mercy! let's share it then...

i'm going to post here some funny, interesting, crazy, wild and boring things too of course. writing in english only. also some cool pics from dub and the places near it will be available when things calms down a bit. so good so far,
